Is this the end of zombie Shakespeare?
I just wanted to give a little advanced warning that I'm thinking of retiring the blog. It started out as a nice way to stay in touch with people, but I'm worried that it's grown to be more than that. I'm sure it doesn't seem like it, but posting takes a fair amount of energy and I'm begining to wonder if that's energy well spent.
Perhaps what I should say is that I'm thinking that not everything I write should be instantly consumable, nor should it be quite so glib. I'm trying to take writing a little more seriously (just a little!) and this may not be the tool through which to do it.
Or maybe what I should really say is that my life is (obviously) in transition. I kind of want to burn my house down and move to India. That doesn't translate into witty posts, so if I don't put so much on here in the next few weeks, know I'm not dead. I'm merely taking my anti-social tendencies online! (See! Another joke. I can't stop myself.)
Or maybe I'll post again tomorrow. Remember: uncertainty makes life fun.

Not posting would be a huge mistake. The best thing about personal blogs is that they force you to write. I liked the Drew narrative adventures that you have posted and think that you are a wonderful writer.
Instead of being a mope and spending all of your time listening to back episodes of This American Life and drooling over On the Media, blog dammit!

Nooooooooooooooo! Drew! You have to know that in addition to providing hours....fine, minutes, of entertainment, your blog is a vital resource in links to other blogs.
and if you move to India, you will still need a way to keep in touch with people.

While I share the disappointment of everyone at the idea of no more (or less infrequent) Drew updates, I understand where you're coming from. You fee like you're letting the writing escape before it's cooked. It'd be like playing every musical idea I have (or used to have?) before it was ready. Do what you gotta do, but know that we will miss you!

Am I too late? Do I have the pleasure of posting the last comment here? Sad. I personally think your blog is both pretty looking and pretty interesting. I understand about the writing part. But I mean, if you, a literate personl, can't write a blog? What does that mean for us souless, masses?

Hmmm ... I suppose I did still think of this as a nice way to stay in touch. Although I suppose you could start sending me lots of personalized emails. Oooooh, I like this plan.
