What to Build and Where

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say this out loud, but I thought David Brooks' column today was spot on. How do you suddenly spend a trillion dollars? I hope cities that have already started drawing up thoughtful plans for new infrastructure reap the greatest benefit from Obama's stimulus package. Wouldn't it be nice, for instance, if the Purple Line or the H Street Streetcar line were suddenly paid for. (And wouldn't it be terrible if all the money got dumped into more roads.)

It also reminded me of the great line from Beyond DC: LEED architecture without good urban design is like cutting down the rainforest using hybrid-powered bulldozers.

Planning matters, people!

I Get Around

Let it be reflected in the record, that of late I've been doing some blogging over here. I get paid for it (which is nice) but I can't curse or talk about books (unless they have to do with the Supreme Court.)

Anyway, you should read both my blogs, because I have so many things to say!

Peanut Butter Jelly Time

In the morning, when I make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to bring to work, I always think, "I am going to be so disappointed to have to eat this for lunch."

But then when lunch time comes, I never am! It's always delicious!
