Is this the end of zombie Shakespeare?
I just wanted to give a little advanced warning that I'm thinking of retiring the blog. It started out as a nice way to stay in touch with people, but I'm worried that it's grown to be more than that. I'm sure it doesn't seem like it, but posting takes a fair amount of energy and I'm begining to wonder if that's energy well spent.
Perhaps what I should say is that I'm thinking that not everything I write should be instantly consumable, nor should it be quite so glib. I'm trying to take writing a little more seriously (just a little!) and this may not be the tool through which to do it.
Or maybe what I should really say is that my life is (obviously) in transition. I kind of want to burn my house down and move to India. That doesn't translate into witty posts, so if I don't put so much on here in the next few weeks, know I'm not dead. I'm merely taking my anti-social tendencies online! (See! Another joke. I can't stop myself.)
Or maybe I'll post again tomorrow. Remember: uncertainty makes life fun.

Two more blogs!
I'm pleased to add Magic Coffee to that list of blogs I keep over there on the right. It's maintained by my friend Jes from Orchard Park who, I think, may be the most senior member on my famed "Favorite People" list.
Then I had to add a blog called Courage. If I have to have a gun toting, pill popping, Bush-voting friend, I'm glad that friend is James Salandro. My only regret is that he can't be forcibly medicated by the state.
Welcome to my Courtney5, kids. As they say, you can check out anytime you like, but you can never undo the damage to your reputation caused by having even visited a dump like this.

It's official. My friends are cooler than your friends.
Christina has an awesome blog here.
(For those of you who don't know her, you should be aware that Christina is hot.)

Wicked Smart
In honor of getting a mention on Anthony House's tredily named blog ([a.ho]) said blog is getting a spot on the roll of honor (see right.) Sure, his blog is smarter and better looking than mine, but I flatter myself that mine has a signifigantly higher blood alcohol content.

Anna Hits the Nail on the Head
I'd like to apologize to everyone who missed this blog over the last week or so. Anna even went so far as to check my well being.
By the way, you have to post something on your blog so that we know that you're not curled up somewhere twitching spastically with pre-election nerves . . . unless . . . oh dear.
What I love about Anna is that she still thinks that twitching spastically is somehow atypical for me.
Anyway, yes, the blog was broken, but thanks to my fantastic brother Rob, it's back in business and you can all continue to read it until the point at which your therapist thinks that it's time for you to try leaving the house again.
Although many things happened since last I posted, most of my hypothetical blogging this week consisted of mashed keys and moans of horror and fear. I mean really, there's only so much typing you can do while laying on the floor in a fetal position and weeping for America. I do intend to try to get back up to date on the news, but it's so hard to concentrate with these damn horsemen riding up and down the street with all their pestilence and plague and whatnot. Hey look! One of them looks like Dick Cheney!

Google owns my soul

I have G-mail. It is pretty sweet. Because they like me so much, the good folks at google have given me six (six!) invitations for my friends and/or enemies. If you would like one, please let me know.

Weekend
This weekend was pretty busy, but still I have nothing to say about it.
Kelly made dinner for several people last night which was a lot of fun. Apparently adding bourbon to everthing is the key to fine cooking.
Afterwards I didn't really want to go home, so I ended up at Wal-Mart, trying on shoes and buying myself a set of pajamas which now qualify as the greatest purchase I have ever made. No, really. I love them.
Jenna and I went canvassing for Kerry on Saturday. Aside from the old racist (I mean really racist and really old) man we met, and the evil shirtless Christopher Walkin look-alike, it was pretty uneventful. The Trooper of the Year Award goes to Ross who got paired with a man on an oxygen tank and still knocked on every single door on all of his streets (as opposed to just the doors on his list.)
When John Kerry wins, he'd better thank Ross in his speech. Ross will just nod humbly and then go home to his wife, PJ Harvey, and his sweet tailless cat.

Catherine Rules!
That chick my brother is always hanging out with has her own blog. Blogs rule. Catherine rules. Catherine's blog rules. Don't argue with logic! (New link over on the right.)
Can we take a moment to marvel at the nice little blog-y community going on here? A new social network growing before your eyes! Quick! Someone write a sociology paper!

And I shall call thee . . .
Dan, rocking out as always, has started his own blog. It's called Average White Dan and can be found on the right side of the page (shortly). I've also added Adventures in Twentysomething, the blog of this chick Dan is always hanging out with. Both blogs -- how shall I put this? -- rock.
Which leads me to my point: it's not that these blogs are so much better than mine (Oh, wait a sec . . . yeah, they are.) as that they have much better names. Perhaps before this blog becomes too damn popular, I may be forced to change my title. But to what? Possibilities include "Super Happy Fun Puppy Blog" and "Worst. Teacher. Ever."
In short, it should be something that's funny at first, but then less funny every time you hear until it's not funny at all, but rather vaguely offensive.
I like "Drew's Blog" because it captures the egomaniacal energy that led to it's creation (and its continued growth!) It's bad though, because it looks so crappy in TrackBacks.
Anyway, I'd love to hear your suggestions . . . before I give up and try to boost traffic by naming it "Naked Pictures of Laura Bush!" Blog.

Anna is HOT!!!
Today my good friend Anna (uptight librarian by day, tiger in the sack by night!) opened her own blog. It is awesome and it can be found (a) right here and (b) over on the right.
Blogs are awesome! No, really, they are. Just not this one . . .

Dan's band rules!
In honor of Dan being the only person to post more than a single comment on this page, his rockin' band Junknugget now has a link over on the right. Congratulations, Dan. The rest of you, eat your hearts out.

Books: the new crack
If you look to the right, you'll now see a link that says "What's Drew Reading?" If you click it, you'll be able to see naked pictures of Salman Rushdie. Or maybe not.
Playing with movable type is fun! Now if only I had a real reason to do so . . .

Welcome to the new blog
Welcome to my new blog!
Ok, it's really not new at all. It's mostly just the same old ranting in a new format. I made this change for a few reasons.
(1) This MT thing makes me look smarter, I think. Even if I had to make Rob do all the hard work for me. Yeah.
(2) Easy updates (ie- no Netscape, no Geocities) means more updates. Ok, maybe that's a negative.
(3) Dude, even with these preset colors (pattern stolen all on my own), it looks so cool!
(4) I wanted to get in with these rockstars at courtney5.us before they got too popular to hang out with me.
(5) Some fool said that s/he would like to be able to make comments. As you can see, comments are welcome, but don't feel pressured. Really, I can take it.
So, um that's it. Same old ranting, now with the ability to rant back. Cool
